A Letter to Myself

Poem Written by Krystal Orellano Weldon © 2020

She always came in second place to self love.

So I write her a letter to remind her;

She is a bad queen.

Not a bad bitch, because she knows her worth.

Time to put yourself first.

Time to understand the definition of a queen.

No matter the trouble the Empire is going to keep rising.

Never let the world see the crying.

Even if they do, show them you are hard too.

Hard on that passion.

That energy you bring to the stage is God’s passing

Through my veins, through all the sweat, tears and pain.

From the death of a boy who wanted to marry me, to my aunt Stacey and unborn child too.

Through my youth when I let out anger through being wild.

One thing I never let them do is keep me silent!

I always would fight it.

Break out my crazy, to get away from negativity.

Because deep down inside you knew you deserved better,

But you wanted to be loved time and time again so you settled.

It’s time to know your worth now!

You’re a bad queen.

Not a bad bitch, because you know your worth.

Time to put yourself first.

Time to clean out your fears and steer clear of abusive people.

The one trying to steel your soul, dig deeper.

Not everyone is made for you.

Evil does exist in the world and it wants to see you fail,

But that empire keeps rising.

Never let them see the crying.

Even if they do, show them you go hard too!

Hard on that passion!

Show how God goes through my skin and keeps passing.

Passing the crown to a bad queen.

Not a bad bitch, because she respects her worth.

Time to put yourself first.

I sat down under the tree of life, Down by the river of strife

Looking down at the caves that went through the mountains from which questions arose

Perhaps my questions were questions but as a Poet I could question my doubts

Like Newton, I knew a new thing was about to drop. Continue reading Comprehension

Abuse & Manipulation

A Write-up by Humphery Adun 2018 ©

Humans are relational beings; and thus, we owe our existence to the ability to cultivate relationships that sustain our mental, physical, emotional and psychological tranquility. In every relationship, there are roles played by each correspondence, and these roles are defined by several factors; age, position, class, family, culture, spirituality, and tradition. This plays out in such a way that it creates dominant and subordinate(dependent) individuals in the relationships. Interestingly, as adults we play both roles of being both dependent and dominant at the same time, across different relationships, and thus there is a diffusion of a learned trait from a relationship circle to another one; and this goes on and on, creating a tangle of relationship traits. Arthur’s Introduction to this piece

I have looked at how my world has changed so much and how creative we have become and the extent of magic we can pull up with our creativity from our devices and everything. However, I also felt the need to talk about the downside of all these great things and how people don’t fit. I played the part of the architect generation and how I am happy to see the delusion, the reality and all the glamour of everything and how it seems to all play into my grand plan. As such, I titled it. A THOUSAND MEGAPIXELS. Enjoy. Continue reading A Thousand MegaPixels

A New Calling

Written and composed by: Destina Godwin Ekekeh ©

On a fizzy cold day, while taking my conventional morning ride,

Cycling down the usual path at a speed faster than the speed of light,

The seemingly unending lane with trees and leaves cascading through,

With the constant quiet and lonely pace,

Left with my wildest imagination, Continue reading A New Calling

Lyrics of the Month #1

In Over My Head (Crash Over Me) by Bethel Music ©

[Verse 1]
I have come to this place in my life
I’m full but I’ve not satisfied
This longing to have more of You
And I can feel it my heart is convinced
I’m thirsty my soul can’t be quenched.
You already know this but still
Come and do whatever You want to. Continue reading Lyrics of the Month #1
